Coconut Turmeric Rice (Nasi Kunyit)

Ingredients

2cups rice

1 tbs turmeric powder

1 piece dried tamarind (optional)

200ml coconut cream

2 screwpine leaves

Salt

Method

1. Rinse rice and drain.

2. Add turmeric powder, tamarind and water.

3. Soak for 3-4 hours for the rice to take on the yellow hue.

4. Drain. Mix rice with coconut cream, water, salt and screwpine leaves.

5. Cook until fluffy.

6. Serve with sambal or curry.
