Healthy High-Protein Banana Apple Cake
This Banana Apple Cake proves that healthy baking doesn’t have to compromise on taste or texture. Naturally sweetened with ripe bananas and apples, it contains no added sugar while staying wonderfully moist and satisfying. Oats provide a good source of fibre, while eggs and fat-free Greek yoghurt add a protein boost to help keep you fuller for longer. With no added fats and only simple, wholesome ingredients, this cake is a nutritious option for breakfast, post-workout fuel, or a guilt-free treat any time of the day.


Ingredients
4 ripe bananas
2 apples
4 eggs
10 tbs Greek Yoghurt
2 cup oats
4 tbs cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp vanilla essence
4 tbs raisins or any dried fruits
2 tbs pumpkin seeds
4 tbs walnuts, chopped
For the topping, optional
150 gm sugar-free dark chocolate
5 tbs hot milk or plant-based milk
Walnuts for decoration
Method
1. Mash bananas and grate apples. Combine the two.
2. Whisk eggs and add to the bananas and apples. Mix until well-combined.
3. Next, mix in Greek Yoghurt and vanilla essence.
4. Grind oats to make flour.
5. Combine oats with salt, cinnamon powder, cocoa and baking powder.
6. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir gently.
7. Add raisins, pumpkin seeds and walnuts.
8. Pour batter into a greased baking pan and bake at 170C for about 35-40 minutes.
9. For the topping, combine hot milk with chopped chocolate. Leave it for 5 minutes for the chocolate to soften before stirring.
10. Drizzle melted chocolate on the cooled cake and top with walnuts.
