Puri (Fluffy Indian Bread)

Ingredients

1 cup flour

¾ tsp semolina (optional)

¾ tsp oil or ghee

¼ cup water

Pinch of salt

Method

1. Mix the dry ingredients with oil or ghee.

2. Add water and knead lightly into a dough. Add water if needed.

3. Smear ½ tsp oil, cover and let the dough rest for a few minutes.

4. Divide into 8-10 portions.

5. Drizzle some oil onto rolling area and roll each dough into thin discs.

6. Heat oil and slide each puri into the hot oil. When the puri rises to the top, gently press down with a ladle to enable it to puff up.

7. Flip and fry till brown on both sides.

8. Serve immediately.
